Oculoplastics

Oculoplastics involve diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect eyelids, tear ducts and orbit. This involves cosmetic, as well as reconstructive surgery to restore function.

Tarsal cysts/Chalazion
Many cysts resolve without treatment, although some may persist and require treatment. Initially, warm compresses and/or antibiotics may be recommended. If that fails and cyst remains irritated or unsightly a small procedure is performed to remove the cyst contents. In majority of cases this can be performed on the day as an in-office procedure.

Entropion/Ectropion
Malposition of lids, where lids are turning in or out will causing a range of symptoms. The eye may be dry, watery, persistently irritated and difficult to close.

Excessive eyelid skin
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove the excess skin and fats from your lids.

Blocked tear ducts
Common symptoms include persistent watering, eye discharge and chronic infections.
